Anniversary Celebration Continues. . .
World Labyrinth Day
“Walk-as-One-at-1:00pm”
Below is our first flyer from 2021!! World Labyrinth Day is held annually on the first Saturday in May, this year, 2024, it will be held May 4th. For our inaugural event in 2021, we taped a labyrinth on the street to help educate the community. In subsequent years, we have held the labyrinth walk of unity inside, on our hand-painted 22’ x 22’ canvas. This year, since we are also part of Enumclaw’s Fiesta celebration (Cinco de Mayo on the 4th) and weather is predicted to be rainy, we will not offer the indoor walkable labyrinth, but will offer several different labyrinth patterns for you to explore and “finger walk”.
We will have samples of future classes which may interest you:
a personal prayer cloth (5’ octagonal canvas for you to create),
a beaded square (12-16” includes batting & backing) . . . suitable as a quilt square, to frame or make into a pillow, or a ‘placemat’ for finger labyrinth work.
hand-painted or tie-dye labyrinth cloth (12-16”)
An Introduction to the Labyrinth: It’s History and Uses (no sample for this - it is a 1 hour class/workshop that includes a PowerPoint presentation and instruction for learning to draw some different kinds of labyrinths. This is usually included in the other classes, but can also be requested separately.)
Our goal is to “walk” physically, or virtually, or manually (finger labyrinths) as “one” for unity . . . for peace . . . prayer continuing around the world for 24 hours at 1pm whenever that is for your time zone. This world needs more prayer for peace - this is a beautiful way to accomplish that! You, as an individual are not required to stay the entire hour, people will come and go and keep the prayer ongoing for at least the 1:00-2:00 time frame.
No registration is required for this hour, nor is there any fee. Just feel free to join us as you are able. Please be respectful of the atmosphere.
At 2pm, we will move into our Blessing Sticks and Bath Salts offering. See calendar for this separate offering and it’s description and details for registration (required).
